We’ve taken the Italian classic, il mocassino, and updated it to suit the demands of the modern travelling man. This new signature design is anchored by the iconic signature reference to the italian buttonhole or ‘Asola’. Lightweight, soft and suitable for all occasions, we think it’s the most comfortable slip-on you’ll ever wear.

The reverse construction technique and soft leather means the Asola shoes can be bent back on themselves for ease of packing.

The shoes are Made in Italy and weigh only 280 grams. Lightweight leather and hand crafted reverse construction make the shoes foldable and packable. Perfect for the traveling man. And perfect for the man who seeks style without compromising comfort. Italians wear them without socks.

It’s in Tuscany where we found the best craftsmen to make this shoe and Ermenegildo Zegna is proud to say it makes all its shoes in Italy.

Vulcanizzato is named after the artisanal process of creating the shoe’s soles, where the craftsman places small pellets of natural rubber into a mould, then warms them to 140°C. The result is rubber which has superior mechanical qualities and retains its elasticity.

With great care, the shoe is then brought back to room temperature and hand stitched. This takes a high degree of craftsmanship. The results are extremely flexible and the technique gives the perfect form to a minimal, timeless sneaker.
